Comment Hut Review | Blog Comment Tool | Comment Luv Blogs
Everyone is looking for comment luv blogs to leave comments on for backlinks. It’s a smart trick. I used a blog comment tool to take my primary business site from nowhere’sville to first page of Google in two months by just commenting on topic related blogs.
Of course, that’s part of the trick. The blogs must have related content on them or you’re pretty much wasting your time. And you want blogs with a decent page rank. The question is, how do you find them?
When I started out, I used Google Alerts to get links to blogs that used my keyword phrase. And it worked great. Except for the fact that about 70% of the blogs Google sent me links to either didn’t allow comments or you had to register to comment or they had no page rank and were practically worthless.
In other words, I was spending massive amounts of time digging for the right blogs to comment on.
Blog comment tool Comment Hut
Then I found out about a tool called Comment Hut from a guy at my SEO meetup in Minneapolis. I gave it a try and it really works. When you get it, they give you the free version (Comment Hut Lite) to download and try. It works but it limits the number of searches to only 10% of the blogs it finds and it only searches WordPress blogs.
So you get blogs but not as many as I needed to promote my websites and my client’s websites.
So I bought the full version and, man, did I start getting a daily list of blogs from WordPress, WordPress.com, Drupal, LiveJournal, TypePad, Suidoo and HubPages to comment on.
Here’s how Comment Hut works:
1. You plug in your keyword phrase and it automatically searches the Internet for blog posts, Squidoo pages, and HubPages that have your keyword phrase in the title.
2. It checks the blogs for the ability to comment and weeds out the ones that either don’t allow it or are closed to comments.
3. Once it’s created it’s list, you can push a button and it gives you the Page Rank of each blog. I love that! (You also have the option before the search to give the minimum blog Page Rank you’re willing to accept so only, say PR 3 or better blogs show up.)
4. Then you can either export the list or double click on each blog link and start commenting. Boom! Half an hour and I’m done blog commenting for the day!
5. If this is what you need, you can get it here: Blog Comment Tool
If that’s not good enough for you then good luck finding a better tool for this cheap. If you want to download the free version, just follow the link: Blog Comment Tool. (Make sure you watch the video at the top of the page to see Comment Hut in action.)
Once you have the free version, you can upgrade to the Pro version. Or you can just scroll to the bottom of the stupid sales page and just buy the Pro version and save yourself the trouble. It’s $97 bucks. If that’s too much for you, considering the results you’ll get, you’re in the wrong business.
For that matter, good luck finding another blog comment tool at all. The only other one I know of is the new SEO tool Lotus Jump but it returns forums, blogs and other social media for you to comment on or register with. The professional version is about $40 a month but worth it if you are a professional SEO or you have a lot of sites to promote.
Here’s a video someone made of the Pro version of Comment Hut so you can see it in action:

Good point, Monty. However, a number of Internet Marketers I know have tested the “no-follow” rule and found that Google ignores it. Matt Cutts is notorious for saying things that clearly don’t represent what Google is actually doing.

CommentHut isn’t a bad tool, but I do think there are better tools out there for building links. http://www.lotusjump.com has a software that shows you where to build links on blog comments, directories, Q&A sites, & article sites.

Good idea,While it only returned a limited number of WordPress blogs, it did give me a chance to try it out and get in the habit of blog commenting dialy.

Good point, Monty. However, a number of Internet Marketers I know have tested the “no-follow” rule and found that Google ignores it.I guess by trying the free version, it would be a good way to weigh up do follow and no follow, especially if promoting a new site.

It’s sad that blog commenting tools can be used in “unethical” ways. I have experienced this personally when i left one of my high ranking blogs during the release of types of blog commenting automation tools.
By allowing webmasters to manually sort through a blog list that allows comments pertaining to certain keyword phrases is a great way to get quality content and feedback from readers.
The comment Hut is on my list of tools, downloading it now. Thanks for the post and great tool. Let’s all remember, content is kings, relevance is queen.

It seems that keywords spread allover, but for sure the post title is the most important part! then the SERPs has some parts from the post, comments, and one example show part of our about us page! confusing! although it shows how Google build the relation between content and search keywords!

Thanks for this article. I didn’t know about Comment Hut (or, if I did hear about it, it was before I’d fine-tuned my marketing & SEO plan) though I’m definitely a fan of Paul Forcey’s work.
Right now (April 2011), it looks like Comment Hut isn’t available. I signed up for the mailing list to find out when the new release comes out.
Lotus Jump might be a good investment, later. At this point, I’m not ready to commit to a monthly subscription. Their starter plan is affordable, but it doesn’t do enough for me to justify it. But, I’ll keep all of this in mind for the future.
Anyway, I definitely appreciate this summary of useful backlink tools. Thank you!

I trialed the free version of Comment Hut and as noted above, it is limited. However, I did receive return comments to my site. I’ve now decided to purchase the full version as I think it will really help gain traffic.
January 5th, 2011 at 11:22 am
That is a useful tool for finding lots of dofollow blogs, I prefer to just use Search Status though.

Really helpful tool, but sometimes what happened is you get some irrelevant blogs. But really appreciable. Keep your eye on Search Engine Island for latest SEO techniques.

Several months ago I trialed the free version of Comment Hut and as noted above, it is limited. However, I did receive return comments to my site. I’ve now decided to purchase the full version as I think it will really help gain traffic.
I had not heard of Lotus Jump, but will check into that option.
After placing CommentLuv on several of my blogs, I have noticed a spike in comments from people who actually leave intelligent worthwhile comments. Any tool that draws quality visitors is a plus IMO.

What an excellent idea i will be adding this to my blog and hopefully i will get some well deserved viewers. It is very hard now to get alot of views with everyone using blogs. Hopefully i will stand out from the crowd with this luv app. Thankyou for sharing best of luck witht the blog.
October 6th, 2010 at 9:45 am
@Monitium – I think it’s best to do both. Both for the diversity of blog links and for the quantity. CommentLuv is great once people find your blog and it’s a great way to create community. However, that’s relying entirely on other people finding your blog posts on their own. You need to get out there and comment on other blogs to help them find you.
Blog commenting can be extremely powerful as both a traffic generating method and even more so as an SEO boost through linkbuilding method. However, you need to do quite a bit of it. I spend about 15 minutes every morning with CommentHut and about 20-30 minutes with Lotus Jump to build my blog commenting links. The two together are very powerful and have really made a difference for me by driving traffic to my site.
October 4th, 2010 at 7:40 pm
I don’t think you necessarily have to purchase then use CommentHut and then post your comment blog, all you have to do is to read the website reviews of the post as well as to watch the videos if there is any and going through that will surely give you information so you can join in blog conversation.
September 30th, 2010 at 9:17 pm
So, how does commenting on a standard blog that allows commenting differ from one that uses CommentLuv?
Are you saying it is a better use of time to purchase and use CommentHut and post comments on blogs not using CommentLuv, or do both?
September 17th, 2010 at 8:10 am
@Post – Yes, CommentHut is a really handy tool. I like it because it is a downloaded software so I have it on my desktop. For those times when I’m away from my office or on vacation and want to do some quick social media linkbuilding, I use Lotus Jump.
September 11th, 2010 at 7:43 am
Nice to know about “comment hut” I am also going to test it!
However, good commentary stuff, each one is with unique question, answer, ideas and advice!
I learned a lot from them!

Good point, Rob. But I don’t believe that nofollow tags are the bad news everyone thinks they are. For one, I’ve read studies by a couple of successful Internet Marketers that have shown that Google actually ignores the nofollow tag in blogs.
And my own personal experience of taking WordsmithBob to first page of Google in two months using just blog commenting also flies in the face of the idea that Google obeys nofollow tags. I’m pretty sure that most of the blogs I was commenting on had their nofollow tags intact.
Here’s what one SEO professional said:
“The nofollow link tag is supposed to provide webmasters with the opportunity to add a link to their website without leaking PageRank to the page they are linking to. Unfortunately, Yahoo and MSN appear to ignore nofollow tags and we have seen links with nofollow tags appear on site searches in Google as well, so it’s questionable how effective they are to prevent any PR leakage.”
September 2nd, 2010 at 3:48 am
CommentHut does good searching, HOWEVER, the blog returned are not necessarily DOFOLLOW, so you could potentially waste a huge amount of time posting comments on blogs that have nofollow on their links.

One more possibility. Instead of looking for podiatry blogs to comment on, perhaps you might try blogs related to different problems podiatrists treat. For instance, the blog at Plantar Fasciitis Inserts
August 13th, 2010 at 4:22 pm
@Podiatrists Brisbane – Hi Sandy! A couple of things to think about. I wasn’t impressed with the results of the free version. You may have to resort to buying it. However, another option is Lotus Jump. It only costs $24 a month. And it scans blogs, forums, Yahoo Answers and a bunch of other content-type sites. There’s a review of it on this site if you want to compare it to Comment Hut. Lotus Jump
August 13th, 2010 at 11:23 am
Have tried to find a decent podiatry blog to comment on but they all seem to have tickets on. I’m willing to give this a try if it will help out with such a tough market. Off to download the free version – will report back. Sandy
July 30th, 2010 at 10:44 am
Good idea. I started out with the free version. While it only returned a limited number of WordPress blogs, it did give me a chance to try it out and get in the habit of blog commenting dialy. However, after awhile, I wanted to expand my blog commenting and the only way to do that was to buy the Pro version. It turned out to be a great investment. You won’t believe the number of high pagerank blogs I got after switching to the Pro version. Another option is to look at Lotus Jump which is an expanded online blog and forum commenting system you pay a monthly fee to use.
July 29th, 2010 at 11:20 pm
I guess by trying the free version, it would be a good way to weigh up do follow and no follow, especially if promoting a new site.
July 28th, 2010 at 8:25 am
I was one of these internet marketers.I began a blog commenting campaign (without taking into consideration “no follow” or “do follow” or even page rank. Matt Cutts is notorious for saying things that clearly don’t represent what Google is actually doing.
July 21st, 2010 at 11:29 am
Good point, Monty. However, a number of Internet Marketers I know have tested the “no-follow” rule and found that Google ignores it. Matt Cutts is notorious for saying things that clearly don’t represent what Google is actually doing.
My business website WordsmithBob.com was three pages down in the rankings for my primary keyword phrase Online Marketing Minneapolis. (Was too busy promoting client’s websites to promote my own.)
I began a blog commenting campaign (without taking into consideration “no follow” or “do follow” or even page rank. Within two months I was first page of Google for that seriously competitive keyword phrase.
Clearly, if what Matt is saying is true, I would not have gotten that kind of results commenting on blogs that were mostly “no follow.”
July 21st, 2010 at 12:38 am
CommentHut does good searching, HOWEVER, the blog returned are not necessarily DOFOLLOW, so you could potentially waste a huge amount of time posting comments on blogs that have nofollow on their links.
Matt Cutts (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g37bwBlifnk&feature=channel) says clearly that nofollow links will NOT count as backlinks.
So the commentHut guys should amend their software to allow filtering for nofollow, until then I do not recommend buying it.
July 14th, 2010 at 5:11 am
Many internet marketers blow mountains of start-up cash on their websites just trying to break into search engine rankings. I was one of these internet marketers.
I spent cash on get-rich-quick submission services that claimed they would submit my page to thousands of seach engines. . .for a small fee. I spent money to get registered with big name search engines. I even spent money on search engine optimization services.
