Top Of Google – How To Get There
Top of Google is not impossible. It just takes planning and a willingness to do the work necessary to get there. I can tell you right now, you won’t buy some software and flip a switch and up you go. And no ethical SEO service is going to promise you top of Google. If they do, grab your wallet and run.
However, with the right plan, executed with determination, you can get to the top of Google.
Every SEO plan must begin with onsite search engine optimization…
If you don’t search engine optimize your website or blog, no amount of linkbuilding or off-site SEO is going to get you to the top of Google. Because the first thing Google does is analyze your website to make sure:
- you don’t have code errors
- you are W3C compliant
- that you have good, solid information on your site
- that the content on each page relates to what your meta tags say your page is about
SEO books for do-it-yourselfers
There are two books I highly recommend to SEO your website. One of them is a free ebook published by Google. It’s their Search Engine Optimization Guide. They also talk a little about off-site SEO on the last page and it’s important to pay attention because they basically tell you what kinds of sites are important to them for website promotion.
The second book I recommend is the Organic SEO Training Manual. It’s expensive at $47 but it gives you the exact formula for analyzing the top five placing websites in Google, Bing and Yahoo for your keywords and using that analysis to search engine optimize your website so it looks (to the search engines), like the kind of site they want to send to the top of Google, Bing and Yahoo.

After Search Engine Optimization Comes Linkbuilding
Okay, building links to get to the top of Google can be a slow, arduous manual task or it can be faster and easier using automation. Me, I like automation. And I recommend using the following tools to get backlinks for your websites.
Directory Submitter – Okay, submitting your website to directories isn’t as powerful as it once was. Perhaps you heard that Google gave the “slap” to directories. However, you can still get PageRank 4, 5 and 6 directory listings.
I use an automated directory submitter for three reasons:
- because it takes a lot of directory submissions to be effective
- because directory submitters come with a complete list of directories
- and because they make it fast and easy
I think those are very good reasons to get a directory submitter…
Next level tool to get backlinks…
This should be a multi-faceted tool that helps and guides you with blog commenting, forum commenting, PR buzz and, well, stealing your competitor’s ideas…
Lotus Jump – Essentially, Lotus Jump searches thousands of websites across the Internet and identifies opportunities for you to either post content, comment on blogs or forums, get PR attention or post to directories.
It also goes to all your competitor’s websites based on your keywords and analyzes where they are getting all their links so you can go get the same ones.
Basically, once you set up your keywords in Lotus Jump, when you log in, it gives you a simple list of tasks to perform complete with the links to get there. This is about as easy and “done for you” as you’re going to get.
One quick tip. One of my clients signed up for Lotus Jump and three months later, cancelled it. When I asked him why, he said he hadn’t logged into it in the entire three months. You have to be willing to log in every day and do a few minutes of linkbuilding or you’re wasting your time and money signing up for it.

If you want to get to the top of Google, you need to be spreading content all over the Internet. The two best places to do that is in the article directories like ArticlesBase and ArticleAlley and on related content blogs.
But first you have to create content…
Best Article Spinner – creating content is a tough job. There are a number of ways to do it. First, you can pay others to create articles for you. I’ve used this method myself. Sometimes you get good articles and sometimes they are awful and you wasted your money.
You can also use PLR or download other people’s articles from the article directories. The problem with those two methods is most PLR content, well, pardon the expression but, it sucks. And if you use other people’s articles, you have to include their links and their “author box” at the end. Plus, you’ll have duplicate content and Google ignores duplicate content.
So, if I buy a new article and it’s a good one, or I write an original article, I load it into my article spinner and “spin” it into 250 unique articles. So for the price of one article (usually anywhere from $10 to $25), I get 250 unique articles I can spread all over the Internet. Yoohoo!

Getting your content posted on Article Directories…
If you aren’t familiar with article directories, they are websites on the Internet where people can post articles. You usually get an “author box” at the end of your article where you can sell yourself and post a link back to your website. Some article directories let you put links in your article.
I use Unique Article Wizard to get my articles into the article directories. It’s just the fastest, most efficient way I’ve found to do it. Especially when you’re dealing with 250 articles at a time.
Getting your content into Unique Blogs…
One fact you may or may not know is that Google loves blogs. A lot. So getting your content posted on blogs is a big deal. One way I do it is to create a bunch of blogs on Blogger and WordPress.com and post articles on them. However, Google figures that one out pretty quick if all your blog posts point to the same website or websites.
Another way is to contact blog owners and beg them to let you post your articles on their blog. I’ve picked up a couple of guest blogger gigs but they expect unique articles with no affiliate links in them.
So I needed to find ways to get my articles on other people’s blogs with affiliate links in them. Well, I found one and it’s really cool. It’s called SEO Linkvine.
SEO Linkvine – here’s how it works. You spin your article in your article spinner. Then you can take your article with all the spinning in it and post it on SEO Linkvine. You list what categories you think your article is appropriate for and then SEO Linkvine notifies everyone who is a member that is looking for content in those categories.
People can then upload your article to their blog or website. And the beauty of it is, that since you uploaded your article with the spinning in it, every article they upload is going to get “spun” and be unique. So you get unique copies of your article spread on blogs of related content all over the Internet!

Post Free Classifieds Ads – There’s a tool for submitting your classified ads to free classified ad sites all over the Internet. Again, this is something you can do by hand but it will be a lot of work. I prefer automation. I’ve got better things to do with my time.

Paid Reviews – Yeah, that’s right. I pay people to review my websites and my products and ebooks. Why? Because Google loves review sites and also, people read them. Whenever I go to buy a product or research it online, I always read what other people have said about it. I read the reviews and look how many stars it got. Reviews are a great source of traffic.

Making money at Google adsense is all about getting as much targeted traffic to your website as you can. however, you also have to go into your Adsense account and tell Google exactly what ads you want and what ads you don’t want. Make sure that the ads being generated for your website are tightly targeted to your information. Also, you need to dictate that you are getting ads with high dollar click throughs so that even though you don’t have a lot of traffic right now, you are getting a good amount of money per click through.
Everything else you do should be about generating traffic. and that’s all about getting content spread all over the Internet in the form of blog posts, articles, videos, podcasts. blog comments, etc. Read my two articles: Top Of Google and How To Add Backlinks To Your Website and follow the advice in them both and I guarantee you will get the level of traffic you are looking for.
